After graduating from high school in Germany, Chef Marcus Lepke discovered his passion to cook through his cousin who inspired him to step into the kitchen to experience what the Culinary World is all about.
With great enthusiasm Chef Marcus graduated with honors after his three year apprenticeship as one of the best in his class and town. His hometown Siegen, not being far away from Frankfurt am Main – a Metropolitan and International City in Germany, lead Chef Marcus into his next culinary chapter.
During his seven years in Frankfurt Chef Marcus worked in prestige and international hotels, which were named some of the best hotels in the world. In addition to his passion to cook, Chef Marcus experienced a new found enthusiasm in teaching.
Receiving his college degree and diploma as a Culinary Instructor and Teacher within the culinary field, Chef Marcus worked in a culinary school in Frankfurt before he decided to go to the hotel management school in Heidelberg; a well-known leadership university for high-level management positions throughout the world.
After graduation in 2002 Chef Marcus accepted an offer as a Dean for a private institute for education near Hamburg, where he was responsible for the Department of Hospitality and the Culinary School.
During this time he met his wife in Germany, who was working overseas from the United States. After her stay in Germany was concluded, Chef Marcus decided to return with her to the United States to explore the what the new US culinary world had to offer.
After arriving in the United States in 2004, Chef Marcus has worked within management positions for few years with the global food service company Sodexo, until he decided to pursue his career as a Chef and Instructor to share his passion to cook.
Chef Marcus offers a private and more exclusive service (but not more expensive) to people who want to learn how to prepare dishes and/or who share the interest in European Cuisine. Some clients would rather have their friends or business associates at there home versus going to a restaurant. Having a personal chef cook in your kitchen is a unique and more personal experience. A broad selection of food is offered from menus including classic Italian, French, German or Spanish dishes; and even custom menus made to your desire.
Chef Marcus is currently working on expanding his business and planning on opening a private culinary school in early 2012.
